New product in the Tellus-range – Shell Tellus Zinc Free S3 MX/VX
Shell is replacing the current Shell Tellus S3 M/V with a new product, Shell Tellus Zinc Free S3 MX/VX, designed
to extend performance and lower environmental impact.
Shell Tellus Zinc Free S3 MX/VX is upgraded in performance such as better oxidation stability and longer oil life.
When might zinc-free hydraulic fluids be selected?
As well as transmitting power, hydraulic oils need to withstand severe system conditions and protect components against corrosion and wear. Many use zinc-based additives to enhance their performance to meet these requirements.
However, operators of hydraulic equipment in mining, manufacturing and other businesses may prefer zinc-free fluids to meet OEM, environmental or component-compatibility requirements.
But not all zinc-free hydraulic fluids are equal, and some may not properly protect hydraulic equipment.
Selecting the right zinc-free fluid
How can you ensure you select the right fluids without investing a lot of time and expertise in a detailed evaluation?
One way is to check the Bosch Rexroth Fluid Rating List RDE. Listed fluids have independent validation of raised performance standards, including
for wear and compatibility.
